🔶 #55: One year of people-centricity
Hello, and welcome back to the News Alchemists newsletter!
And a special first welcome to new subscribers from CNN, GFMD, Sicilian Post, Less War, Milano Finanza, ECO, Università di Torino, Thomson Reuters Foundation, Universität Bremen, IDAE, and all of you brave souls working independently.
One year ago today (actually tomorrow but whatever) I was sending the first edition of this newsletter.
Did I think then that I'd still be here today emailing a growing list of almost 1,000 people based in 83 different countries? Nop.
I hoped I would. But I wasn't confident in my ability to stick with it for so long, nor did I know if people would find it useful.
Am I happy to still be writing it though? You bet. And I'm still doing it not only because I enjoy it: it's because your feedback consistently reminds me that there are human beings at the other end of these emails, who find them interesting and valuable.
But why does this newsletter exist? How did it all start?
I thought the anniversary was a good moment to review the story together.
