I know, I know... last week I said there was going to be no newsletter today, but I can't help myself. Sorry not sorry 🤷‍♂️

The reason for sending it might seem a little off-topic but if we're talking about being people-centric, we should remember that we are people too. And, as people, sometimes we just need a break:

JournalismUK invited me to talk about one of my favourite topics: career breaks.

I had the opportunity to take one in 2023 (and another one back in 2014 – sort of) and it's no hyperbole to say that it was a transformative experience.

Maybe you'd love to take a break too but you worry about when is the right time, how to afford it, or the impact it might have on your career?

Hearing from others who faced the same concerns usually helps – and trust me, anyone who took a career break did face those same concerns and more.
